The picture looks very rural, which it is, but a busy road, forever clogged up with traffic, runs parallel to the path which the bench is on. The view isn't quite as good sitting down on the bench, but it's still a good spot. As with almost all benches these days it comes with a commemorative plaque, in this case from a former head of the local council to his late wife. I would be interested to know if the trees which block the view of the river from elsewhere on this short path were removed before or after the bench idea. I have no objections if they were removed as a consequence of the bench, I'm just nosey about stuff!
