Eastway, St Mary of Eton Church
The Church of St Mary of Eton with St Augustine at Hackney was founded by the Eton College mission in 1880; the present church being built 1890-2. St. Mary of Eton Church, Hackney Wick
The name of the church reminds us of the long charitable association between Eton College and Hackney Wick. The building at the right, which used to be part of this church, is now occupied by an independent religious sect.

Brewery plaque, Hackney Wick
On the parapet of a former public house, once known as the "White Lion" is a plaque indicating that this was a Truman's establishment. The brewery dates back to 1666, and was based at the Black Eagle in Brick Lane, East London. A history of the brewery made be read at this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truman%27s_Brewery.
