These new offices have recently been occupied by the Wyre Forest District Council. The official address is Finepoint Way, which is the service road off Walter Nash Road West. This view is from Stourport Road. The road where the cars are waiting at the traffic lights is Walter Nash Road West. The offices under construction in October 2011:- Image Image

The local district councils for the three towns of Bewdley, Kidderminster & Stourport-on-Severn were amalgamated into one Council, following local government reform in 1974. As a result, the new council, called Wyre Forest District Council, has been operating out of dispersed offices since then. The current administration decided some time ago that it would be more efficient to have all staff on one site. The result is this building, the construction of which is now well underway. It is claimed to be a state of the art design, and very green in energy consumption. It should be said that the decision to go ahead with new offices in the present economic climate, has been fiercely controversial, but this is not the place to discuss that. Stourport Road is part of the A451. Here on the left is a section where various industrial and commercial premises are located, including the Wyre Forest Emergency Services Hub. A service road, on the left, serves these premises. Also to be found here is a bus stop and shelter, and just before this is a grassed area which includes a number of flowers, including yellow poppies. See:- Image

The main Stourport Road is on the left. The road on the right, from where the photograph was taken, is the service road, which gives access to various industrial premises on the west side of Stourport Road. In the distance, on the right, is part of the new offices of Wyre Forest District Council. See:- Image Not long after the traffic lights in the far distance, is the boundary between the towns of Kidderminster and Stourport-on-Severn. Both are within the Wyre Forest District.

Located on the corner of Stourport Road and Oldington Lane, these are the Kidderminster offices of OGL Computer Services Group Limited. Their head office is at Worcester Road, Stourport-on-Severn. The company was established in 1976 and supplies and supports UK businesses with information technology hardware and software.
