Taylor Wimpey's Stour Valley Development on the former British Sugar Corporation site is partially complete. The houses in the foreground are under construction but those in the background appear to be completed. As is usually the case with modern housing there is little space between houses and not much garden. Some of the two bedroom houses have a floor space of just 602 square feet. Image

This is the sales centre for builder Taylor Wimpey's Stour Valley housing development on the former British Sugar Corporation site. It is in Weir Crescent, off Silverwoods Way, near the Wyre Forest Leisure Centre. Image

The start of a fairly long residential road built a few years ago on the former British Sugar factory site. Looking from Silverwoods Way. The road was named after Clement Dalley (1856-1934). He was a seed merchant, agriculturalist and promoter of the sugar beet industry. The smell created by the former factory was pungent.

Silverwoods Way, also known as the Hoobrook Link Road, is the main road traversing the vast former British Sugar Corporation site. It is gradually being redeveloped but it is likely to be several years before the whole project is complete. So far there are several roads of housing and a new leisure centre. In this view, on the left, new housing is under construction, and just past the traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing, also on the left, is the entrance to Weir Crescent.

Along Silverwoods Way in Kidderminster.

Greene King Pubs are building this food focussed restaurant/pub on a triangular plot adjacent to the Leisure Centre. It will be part of their Farmhouse Inns brand and is the first business of this type to open in the town for many years. It will no doubt get much custom from visitors to the Leisure Centre and from residents of the many housing developments which are also being built on much of the vast former sugarbeet factory site. A new food-focussed public house which opened on the 11th March 2019. It is part of the Farmhouse Inns brand of Greene King. It is named after the original name of the land it is built on, The Larches. However for many years it was part of the large sugar beet factory site. Image Image Image Under construction:- Image
