Kidderminster Viaduct
Viewed from Chester Road South. Kidderminster Viaduct, also known as the Hoobrook Railway Viaduct, was built in 1884-1885 to carry the Kidderminster to Worcester main line railway over what is now the A449 (Chester Road South), on the south side of Kidderminster. The 20-arch viaduct is about 340 metres (c1,110 ft) long and has a maximum height of 23 metres (75 ft). This viaduct replaced a wooden structure of 24 timber spans on stone columns.

The Crown is currently boarded up, with a "To Let" sign outside. It is owned by Enterprise Inns. Prospective tenants have a lot of choice in the area at the moment, so it may be some time before it re-opens. Meanwhile the nearby Viaduct pub is still operating. How it used to look:- Image Image Update September 2013:- After a long period of closure, the pub was recently demolished.

The Viaduct 619 Old Chester Road South
In Kidderminster it's difficult go very far in any direction without coming across a public house or two, or three. No doubt working in the carpet industry worked up a great thirst so this created the demand for so many licensed premises. Although an awful lot have disappeared over the years, the town still has far more than you would expect for a place of its size. This public house is called The Viaduct. It is named after the huge railway viaduct carrying the main Worcester to Birmingham railway line, and part of which can be seen in the background.
