'Lookout'
The new buildings are part of the Cefas organisation, but the narrow path running to the seafront dates back well before the older barracks that used to be here.

Life at the bottom
Another of the features of the walls in the Weymouth branch of Cefas. It appears to represent the sort of life that lived in the warm, shallow waters of the area several millions of years ago - as befits the Jurassic Coast. See Image] for another or Image] for the office entrance.

Fishy fossils
The walls of Cefas (the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) in Barrack Road have some rather intricate details of ancient marine life. See Image] for another.

CEFAS entrance
The Centre for Environment. Fisheries and Aquaculture Science was originally established in Weymouth in 1969 to investigate salmon disease. Increasing demands, particularly with European legislation, meant that staff sizes and roles grew and by 1991, the old offices at Lookout House were inadequate. In 1994, this new state-of-the-art building was opened, and it features these columns and a number of 'archaeological' reliefs in the walls - see Image
