This colourful assortment of properties is in fact a very recent development of retirement homes. The styles and various features (including a long balcony) is the Harbour Lights Court and has the inscription of MMXV above it.

The development comprises the demolition of the existing fire station building and the redevelopment of the site to form 43 Later Living apartments (19 x 1 bed and 24 x 2 bed apartments), together with a communal residents lounge, laundry, guest suite, refuse area and house managers office. There are 34 car parking spaces and mobility scooter parking spaces provided with charging facilities. The roundabout is at the junction of Westwey Road and North Quay. The car park of the Asda superstore is at the extreme right of the picture.

The A354 comes along the side of the harbour behind the photographer and goes forward up Rodwell Road to Wyke and Portland. North Quay enters from the left past the old fire station and on the right is Newstead Road and the entrance to the ASDA superstore. As part of the road improvement package prior to the Olympics the roundabout was replaced by lights, which at normal rush hours struggle to cope. The fire station closed in July 2011 the fire brigade relocating to Radipole Lane.

The A354 comes in from the right and crosses the junction to climb Rodwell Road on its way to Portland. North Quay comes in on the left past the recently closed fire station. The large ASDA superstore which can be seen on the left contributes significantly to the traffic problems at this junction. The fire station, which opened in 1939, closed in July 2011. Redevelopment as retirement flats has been proposed, and opposed. A new station has been constructed on the old Westhaven Junior School site, on Radipole Lane.
