Timeless village scene...
...except for all the modern clutter. A fire hydrant, two street names, road signs denoting a no-through road and unsuitable for large vehicles, telephone wires, TV aerial, and no doubt plastic window frames and down pipes as well. It used to be so simple.

The Beehive, Church Lane, is an 18th century detached cottage, greatly restored in the late 20th century. Constructed of rubble stone with freestone quoins under a half hipped thatch roof. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1119227
Osmington is a small commuter village astride the A353 road, some 3¾ miles northeast of Weymouth. There is evidence of settlement in the Bronze Age, and the village was mentioned in a charter of 940. Osmington is renowned for the hill figure of King George III riding a horse, carved in 1808.
