Bishop Auckland - Lightfoot Institute
Named after Bishop Lightfoot. English Heritage records this building as a public library (http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1297565 ). However, the library moved to the former Town Hall in 1993 (see http://www.durham.gov.uk/Pages/Service.aspx?ServiceId=6186 ). The Institute is now in multiple occupancy.

Victoria Avenue, Bishop Auckland
Victoria Avenue is the road beyond the crossroads; it also extends to the camera position. Newgate Street, the main shopping street of Bishop Auckland lies at the far end of the Avenue. The building on the left side of the image is a Masonic Hall.

Vacant lot, Kingsway
Kingsway is a road in Bishop Auckland running to the east of and parallel to, the town's main shopping street, Newgate Street. Despite 'gentrification' going on in the northern part of the town - beyond the farther buildings - there's been some deterioration as a shopping centre which can surely be blamed on the large out of town development at Tindale Crescent, just a couple of kilometres distant..
