Named after Bishop Lightfoot. English Heritage records this building as a public library (http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1297565 ). However, the library moved to the former Town Hall in 1993 (see http://www.durham.gov.uk/Pages/Service.aspx?ServiceId=6186 ). The Institute is now in multiple occupancy.
