Track near Coat House Farm
This walled agricultural track between Coat House Farm and Stot Hill (in the background) is also a public bridleway.

Track near Stot Hill
This walled agricultural track is a public bridleway and leads uphill from Coat House Farm. The dry stone wall, made from many small flat pieces of stone looks to be on the point of collapse and bears evidence of previous repairs.

Minor road climbing north-west from Blanchland
The road climbs through the valley of the Shildon Burn, (which is visible to the left of the road), to pass the small settlement of Shildon beyond which it continues as a dirt road passing the farm at Pennypie House before going out on to heather moor as an estate road.
