Smiddy Shaw House
Smiddy Shaw House stands at the western end of Smiddy Shaw Reservoir. The substantial aqueduct, bridged and crossed by a pipeline, feeds water into Smiddy Shaw from Hisehope Reservoir.

Catchwater stream at Smiddy Shaw
I think this stream is used to catch water from the hillsides and feed it into the reservoir at Smiddy Shaw. It also connects to the nearby Hisehope Reservoir so perhaps regulates water levels between the two.

View over the reservoir
Looking over Smiddy Shaw reservoir at Waskerley. The house on the far bank was originally the waterman's house but was sold off and is now a farmhouse. It stood empty for a number of years.
