Durham Constabulary - Crook (Weardale) Neighbourhood

NPT Inspector for Crook, Barnard Castle and the Dales. Previously NPT Inspector for Bishop Auckland. Police search advisor dealing with CT, Missing people, crime scenes. I have over 22 years policing experience and previously worked as a detention officer in custody and a former Royal Navy engineer working on nuclear submarines. I am committed to ensuring the safety of our communities and working with partners, local councillors and residents. I play a significant role in delivering the Force rural crime strategy.

I have started my policing journey at age 14 as a Police Cadet. I then started working for Durham Police at age 16 as an apprentice youth worker delivering projects like Mini Police. I have been a PCSO at Crook for almost 4 years and have recently moved to Weardale NPT. I am also a qualified drone pilot for the force.

I have been a Police Constable for Durham Constabulary over 21 years within the response command, I have worked both North and South of the County and have had specialist roles around Safeguarding. I am currently situated within the Crook and Weardale Policing Team, my beat areas include Hunwick, Oakenshaw, Sunnybrow and Willington.

I have worked for Durham Police for over 20 years, having various roles from Response Policing, CID as a Detective and Detective Sergeant in the County Durham and Darlington area, before in 2019 moving the Crook and Weardale Neighbourhood Policing Team as the area Sergeant. I love the role due to the various challenges within the towns and villages, from reducing volume and rural crime, reducing ASB in town centres and problem-solving with our partner agencies around community issues.

I am the local officer for Weardale, Covering Wolsingham, Frosterly, Stanhope and the surrounding rural areas. I have been part of the Crook & Weardale Neighbourhood Policing Team since 2023 and have worked in Crook since 2021 as part of the response team.
