St Michael's churchyard
The churchyard at St Michael and All Angels church at Witton Gilbert. A nice point here, not usually known to people from outside the area, is that the G in Gilbert is pronounced in the soft french manner as a J. This usage has persisted from the middle ages.

The Glendenning Arms, Witton Gilbert
The village is a very ancient one, and this buildings dates back to the 18th century probably. It used to have a thatched roof which blew off in a great storm in the 19th century. It takes its present name from a Victorian proprietor.
