I am a police Sergeant based at Framwellgate Moor police station. I have been with Durham Constabulary for 7 years, all of my career has been spent on the front line policing on response and now in a neighbourhood policing role. I bring a number of skills to the role, I am a taser trained, trauma medic, PSU (more commonly known as riot officer), blue light driver, method of entry and a drone pilot. I look forward to working more closely in the neighbourhood and the aim for me and my team is to have a more visible presence and reduce crime and anti social behaviour in north, west and south of Durham city.
I am a Police Inspector with around 29 year's service, all with Durham Constabulary.
I came to the Durham City Neighbourhood role over three years ago, following a period as Force Incident Manager and Tactical Firearms Commander. in the Force Control Room.
I spent many years in Stanley as a Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant, where I listened to community concerns and worked in partnership with other organisations to reduce crime and antisocial behavior.
I am committed to Durham City and I ensure my teams are proactive, using innovation and problem solving to make Durham a better place to live, work and visit.

I first joined Durham Police as a Police Community Support Officer where I worked in the community. This gave me a taste for policing and I have recently joined as a regular Police Constable. I spent some time as a Student Response Officer before being chosen to move to Neighbourhood Policing as part of the Neigbourhood Policing Plan Uplift.
I am looking forward to using the skills I learned as a PCSO to solve problems and prevent and tackle crime in our communities.

During my time in this role, I have taken a proactive approach to problem solving some of which have been long term issues the community have had, working alongside partner agencies.
Since joining the team I have used my training as a Dementia Champion to improve and increase the uptake in those on the Herbert Protocol helping to safeguard those on the scheme.

| 20 Nov 2025 | Pact priorities - Retail theft – Arnison Centre – The Arnison Centre is a large retail park which is targeted by criminals locally and persons who travel to the area, as well as opportunistic criminals. Extra foot patrols have been carried out in the area, engaging with all shops and showing a large presence in the area at busy shopping times. Shop Watch meetings take place once a month where security from all shops meet to share intelligence and build rapport between the shops and police. | 6 Jan 2026 | Pact priorities - Shoplifting - High visibility patrols have been conducting around our shops, in particular the Arnison Centre over the festive period. As a result 2 known prolific shoplifters were arrested and remanded. Further patrols are to be over the coming weeks. Shop Watch meetings continue to take place in order to share intelligence gathered and identify offenders. Further updates to be given at the next PACT meeting |
| 3 Mar 2026 | Pact priorities - Shoplifting - High visibility patrols have been conducted around our shops. As a result 6 known prolific shoplifters were arrested and remanded. | 7 May 2026 | Pact priorities - Shoplifting - High visibility patrols have been conducted around our shops.Further patrols are to be over the coming weeks. Shop Watch meetings continue to take place in order to share intelligence gathered and identify offenders. We continue to organise planned OP Endurance days in which we designate resources to tackling the issue along side our road traffic and bike section officers. Several electric off road bikes have been seized recently with the assistance of our own motorbike section School parking issues – In Framwellgate Moor we have a large number of all different types of schools which at picking up and dropping off times has caused issues in the local area. Extra patrol at key times by officers and PCSO’s to speak and engage with all parties to move them on and prevent any more parking issues. Speeding – Regular speed watch checks carried out in key areas where speeding is an issue. We are guided by our local knowledge but also by members of the public who report speeding to us as an issue and hold speedwatch campaigns in that area. Speedwatch's have been completed on Abbey Road recently, during the first speedwatch 118 vehicles passed us with 3 speeding. During the second Speedwatch 212 vehicles passed us with 7 speeding. All drivers driving above the speed limit with be dealt with appropriately. Multi agency patrols have been conducted alongside Durham County Council and Fire Service. 6 youths were identified as being involved in recent arson incidents. 1 youth has been referred to youth offending whilst the others will be carrying out a restorative project alongside Police and Countryside Rangers.
