County Hall in Durham
The headquarters of Durham County Council beside the B6532 on the west side of the city. It was designed by Sir Basil Spence in a 1960's brutalist style, and opened in 1963. However, the council is in the process of building a replacement which is supposed to open in 2021, and this building will then be demolished.

Mural at Durham County Hall
A mural on the side of the County Hall, with a lot of local references in the picture. I'm not from round here so I don't get all of them, but I can see monks and Vikings, St Cuthbert, the Lambton Worm and Penshaw Hill, mining and seafaring etc.

Stairway at Durham County Hall
Just a set of steps down from the first floor into a rather scruffy yard at one end of the building, but somebody back in the 1960s put a bit of thought into its design.
Maybe Sir Basil Spence himself, who was the principal architect of the hall.
