Field gate on Trout's Lane
I wonder if the large tree section is to prevent people parking here. Obviously that would block the farmers access. The view north is up to the ridge top at Sacriston.

Footpath along Trout's Lane
Rather unusually, there is a high hedge between the path and the road. I fancy it's there to give privacy to Hartside House on the other side of the lane.

Footpath along Trout's Lane
Most of the lanes around here don't have a footpath, but this one has a good well maintained one. View looking south, with views in the distance over the Browney Valley.

Converted farm buildings at Hartside Farm
This complex is now called Hartside House, and consists of the former courtyard layout of buildings all now converted to residential use. This is a common use for large Victorian farms like this one. Located on Trout's Lane east of Durham City.
