Wingfield Park Hall wall
Alongside the Hall, the footpath splits from the farm road which it follows across Lodge Hill. The wall that surrounds the immediate grounds of the hall is now significantly broken down.

Turbine at The Mill
The private owner of the old mill at Wingfield Park has had this turbine installed at the old mill weir. The turbine relies on a siphon arrangement to increase the head, and is a type developed for use in developing countries. A small electric motor is required to prime the siphon, but this increases the available head at this site by around 40%. The average flow in the river is in fact relatively low, largely due to the fact that there is no major tributary below the Ogston Reservoir, and the installation is only rated at around 5KWh. It nevertheless provides a nice little offset from the normal electricity bill for the owner. This particular installation is by Derwent Hydroelectric Power Ltd. http://www.stnicholasallestree.org.uk/dhp/pages/Home.html

English apples
A rare sight; the tasty sort of English varieties which you can't buy in the supermarket, having to make do with the often tasteless types which are freighted halfway round the world (yes that's what we did in the 20th and 21st centuries; daft, isn't it?). At Amberside Farm, near Buckland Hollow, Derbyshire.
