Bexleyheath Line
The Bexleyheath Line was opened between Blackheath and Slade Green Junction in 1895. The view is from the footbridge that links Gipsy Road and South Gipsy Road, and looks in the direction of Welling station. Shooters Hill Water Tower can just be made out on the horizon to the right of the line.

The Bexleyheath Line looking towards Welling station
This view is taken from the footbridge linking Gipsy Road to South Gipsy Road. The wooded heights of Shooters Hill are on the right horizon behind the trees.
The Bexley Heath Railway led by railway engineer Alfred Bean (owner of Danson House) secured the necessary Act of Parliament to build the line in 1883 but it was not until 1895 that the Bexleyheath Line was finally opened. The company soon went into bankruptcy and the South Eastern Railway who had refused to build a line to serve the area. The line was electrified in 1926, along with the other South Eastern & Chatham Railway local routes to Dartford by the Southern Railway.
