The marker reads 'Caution buried pipeline -UKOP- Leg T-M7 -Km 24.95' The United Kingdom Oil Pipeline (UKOP) is an oil products pipeline opened in 1969 and connecting the two (then) Shell refineries of Stanlow (Cheshire) and Shell Haven (Thames Estuary). It is administered and operated by the British Pipeline Agency (BPA) which is jointly owned by Shell and BP. UKOP transports 7.5 million tonnes of mixed products each year distributed to major oil terminals at Buncefield and Kingsbury with spurs to Northampton and Nottingham. UKOP now draws its products from Shell Stanlow in the north and Petroplus Coryton in the south, with smaller volumes from tankage at Shell Haven. UKOP carries two grades of petrol, two grades of kerosene (including Jet A-1) and two grades of gas oil/diesel. (Information from wikipedia, July 2010)

This impressive village hall is newly built, I imagine as compensation for the disruption caused by HS2 which is being built right through the village.

These are model estate cottages built in 1858 on what was then the estate of Stoneleigh Abbey, which extended as far as the east side of Red Lane and Cromwell Lane. The land was sold in 1928, leading to the ribbon development of this side of Burton Green. The county boundary between Solihull and Warwickshire in this area is generally the centre of Hob Lane, but it has one curious kink at this point to include this farmhouse within Warwickshire, though much of the farmyard and buildings are in Solihull borough.

In order to accommodate HS2 construction work the Kenilworth Greenway has been temporarily diverted following a new route across fields. This is the point where it crosses Hob Lane. The notice explains the situation and provides a map.

This artwork is located on Cromwell Lane close to the junction with Red Lane. The plaque explains that the work was 'created by the residents of Burton Green and their families together with children from Burton Green Church of England School to celebrate the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II'.
