Foleshill Road with apartment block in former textile factory
Once a part of the Courtaulds textile works, this building was converted into housing in 2020-2021. The road is very busy; this photo was taken during a rare lull in the traffic. For more on Courtaulds in Coventry see

Former Courtaulds building converted to housing, Foleshill Road, Coventry
Courtaulds established a factory at Coventry in 1905. It became known for the production of artificial fibres such as rayon and, more recently, Tencel. The factory closed in the early 1990s but parts of it have been preserved through conversion to other uses, such as offices. This building, across the road from the main site, has recently (2020-21) been converted into housing. See Fry, David & Smith, Albert, The Coventry we have lost: Forgotten Foleshill, Simanda Press, 2018.

Courtaulds catches the setting sun
The Courtaulds works closed in the early 1990s, but this prominent landmark on the Foleshill Road is still known by that name to older Coventry people. The main block with its clock tower is now an office building called Tower Court. For more on the factory and its history see
