numerous suspects in last month arrested and charged with shop theft in the area over the last month, hard work continues in reducing this crime, positive outcome rates for shop theft offences in Stoke and Wyken is one of the highest for Coventry .

Local officers have been working closely with housing providers and support services to tackle the issues raised by residents .

There have been incidents of individuals gaining access to communal areas, resulting in antisocial behaviour including urinating and defecating in lobby areas. Despite the installation of new locks, vandalism and unauthorised access have continued, leaving residents feeling intimidated and unsafe.

Local Police team are coordinating a multi agency response, working closely with Environmental health and partner agencies. A multi agency meeting is being arranged to address safeguarding, enforcement and environmental concerns. Officers will also work with the landowner to review building security and longer term solutions to prevent further incidents and improve resident safety.

23/02/26: There have been a number of positive results recently, including the arrest of repeat shoplifters who have now been charged to court. We will continue to pursue persistent offenders and use all available powers to prevent further offences. We are working closely with local businesses to strengthen security measures and support crime prevention initiatives, including advice on designing out crime. Activity and enforcement will continue as part of our ongoing commitment to support local retailers and keep the area safe.

Stoney Stanton road , reports of non residents in the block, drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis, causing nuisance to residents

Local Police team will be working with housing officers to tackle this issue, reports of ASB in late evening, officers have been patrolling during this time and will issue Community protection notices and warnings to those responsible or who do not have a legitimate reason to be in the block.
This will remain as a priority for this month , further intelligence about drug use and ASB in block, partnership work continues with housing.

July: several operations conducted through the month of July, including patrols with Force Mounted Unit, plain clothes and high vis, this resulted in several arrests and seizures of drugs and electric bikes. The team will continue to treat this area as a priority .

Concerns have been raised about groups gathering outside several 24 hour licensed shops on Foleshill road during the late evening/early hours of the morning. This has resulted in reports of noise nuisance and low level ASB, affecting nearby residents.

The local neighbourhood team are carrying out regular patrols and working with Licensing, Trading standards and the Councils Environmental health team to address these concerns. Joint engagement with businesses will be undertaken, with enforcement action considered where necessary to reduce nuisance and improve the quality of life for local residents .
