Monkey puzzle tree, Lythalls Lane, Holbrooks
A monkey puzzle tree stands in a front garden on Lythalls Lane, a striking foil to the street trees, an avenue of severely pruned London planes. The monkey puzzle tree that is normally grown in Europe is the hardiest species in its genus, Araucaria araucana, which is native to Chile and Argentina, where it grows on the lower slopes of the Andes mountain range; see Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araucaria_araucana .

The Holly Bush public house, Holbrooks
A local landmark, a large interwar roadside pub at the corner of Holbrook Lane and Lythalls Lane, seen here from the side, across Lythalls Lane and with a fresh coat of post-pandemic magnolia paint (the brickwork was previously unpainted). The bus stop is served by local National Express Coventry services and Stagecoach buses running further afield to Bedworth and Nuneaton. The precise purpose of the rusty bollards apparently protecting a short stretch of pavement is unclear.
