Houses in Palmerston Road. No 41, with the name Thirlmere above the door, is first shown on the 1906 25 inch map, suggesting it dates from around the turn of the 19th/20th Centuries. The other houses would appear to be from the c.1920s/30s, not appearing until the 1940 edition.

Copper beeches, Beechwood Avenue
Formerly known as Whor Lane, Beechwood Avenue was one of the lanes around Coventry pre-dating the surrounding housing. Its name was changed at the suggestion of the residents of the new estates nearby in the early 20th century, becoming Beechwood Avenue in 1912/13. Here, the older houses have their backs to the avenue and the copper beeches are at the edge of gardens to flats built in the third quarter of the 20th century.
