The view across York Road from a private road to the rear, Royal Leamington Spa
In shadow on the right is the Old Library development – conversion of the old Free Library, at one time a school, to apartments. Further away, left, is Manor Court, a solid block of flats possibly from the 1970s. Beyond it is the Manor House development – conversion and extension of the Manor House Hotel, originally a private house, as apartments.
Photographed with an iPhone 6, mid-June, middle of the day, in astonishing, almost Mediterranean light.

After the wedding: 1
A good-natured crowd gathered in the Pump Room Gardens to watch the televised wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on a large mobile LED screen. The wedding day, Friday 29th April 2011, was designated a public holiday for the occasion. After the event the picnicking audience was entertained with cartoons.
The brick wall in the foreground retains a ramp up to the York footbridge over the river Leam (beneath the camera). The bridge and its approaches were designed by William Louis de Normanville, the Borough Engineer, in 1891.
