Pigeons, Leamington Street Art, Spencer Yard
The pigeons are one of several entertaining pieces of street art here. For decades the hope has been kept alive that Spencer Yard would become the heart of Leamington's cultural quarter, a concept that has its enthusiasts and its sceptics. Some would say the whole town is a cultural quarter.

Post Office, Royal Leamington Spa
Formerly the Head Post Office, this building in Priory Terrace was built in 1870. Although at one time under threat of demolition fortunately sense prevailed and it was redeveloped and extended (the new sorting office extension can be seen behind) between 1975 and 1978. With Post Office rationalisation it now has one of the few surviving Post Office counters in the district.

Victoria Colonnade, Leamington Spa
The river-facing frontage of the Victoria Terrace development by the architect William Thomas, completed 1839.
The ground floor was occupied by the Victoria Baths. From the Pump Room, entered on the corner, left, visitors entered a lobby (right hand door, centre) beyond which were the baths and a tasteful garden, now the site of the Loft Theatre. Railway excursions to the seaside took business away from spas such as Leamington. By 1863 the Victoria Baths had been bought by an ironmonger. They are now a popular watering hole, the Robbins Well - a reference to the short-lived Robbins Baths, established in the first years of the 19th century.

Post Office, Priory Terrace, Leamington
The post office was opened in 1870. Originally the handsome frontage was two-storey with an ugly single-storey sorting office behind it, on the north side. It is not known when the whole building became two-storey. The four-storey extension on a cramped site was built in 1912. Further along Priory Terrace, in
Image, is the sorting office, believed to date from the 1970s. Beyond it are mainly late 19th century mansions with rear gardens running down to the River Leam. The Clock Tower of All Saints Church appears on the right of the photo.
