Wyken Church, Coventry
The Church of England parish church of Wyken is dedicated to St Mary Magdalene. It is the oldest church building in Coventry, dating from the 12th century, with a 15th century west tower, and was restored in the mid 19th century. The spire is Victorian, and the 12th century Romanesque (round headed) door that can be seen at the base of the tower was moved to its current position during that period. The church stands on a low, rounded hill above the River Sowe. It is a Grade I listed building; see the listing at the Historic England site https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1076583?section=official-list-entry .
