numerous suspects in last month arrested and charged with shop theft in the area over the last month, hard work continues in reducing this crime, positive outcome rates for shop theft offences in Stoke and Wyken is one of the highest for Coventry .

over the recent period, officers have continued to focus on retail related crime. High visibility retail patrols have been carried out, alongside joint operations with partner agencies. This has included coordinated work with cctv operators and regular business patrols to provide reassurance, deter offending and improve information sharing with local retailers. As a results if this ongoing partnership, a male was identified and subsequently charged with 10 shop theft offences on 10th November. We will maintain these targeted patrols as an active priority and continue to work closely with partners to prevent offending .

Local parks within the Ward, such as The Lindfield, Barras Green, Stoke Heath, Caludon Castle Park, have seen increase in ASB (anti social behaviour). Issues include groups of youths gathering, off road bikes causing disruption, criminal damage, and disorder, impacting the safety and enjoyment of these areas.

-Increased high visibility patrols in hotspot area, ( including officers on pedal cycle patrols)
-Targeted operations to tackle off road bike use, including seizure and enforcement.
-Engagement with young people and use of stop search powers where necessary.
-Partnership work with housing providers, local councils and youth services.
-Referral of individuals to support agencies to reduce offending.

the local team are conducting open space patrols on pedal bike patrols on a regular basis, engaging with and reassuring the public.

Numerous patrols conducted in last month , including joint patrols of hotspot areas with specialist Force traffic units/Off road bike team. One on the 19th August as part of Operation Advance. Officers working together to tackle ILLEGAL electric bikes and scooters around the city. 8 bikes were seized as a result of this operation, from various locations. Also on 28th August evening, officers stopped vehicle and arrested suspect on suspicion of drug offences.

as we go into Autumn months these patrols will continue , particular attention and daily patrols around Walsgrave road and green areas off it.
Retail premises will be visited over next few weeks reference selling of fireworks and green spaces visited, in particular for any unauthorised bonfires

17th Dec: Shoplifting remains a priority for us this month. Over the past few weeks, officers have focused on supporting local businesses and protecting retail staff, particularly in response to reports of theft and abuse towards workers.
We have carried out daily patrols and high visibility policing in key locations, such as Asda and Marks and Spencer ( Kynner way) and Morrisons ( Skipworth drive ). Officers have worked closely with store staff to identify offenders, share information and provide reassurance.
This proactive approach has resulted in numerous arrests, with further investigations and enforcement activity ongoing. We will continue to target repeat offenders and maintain regular patrols in retail areas to deter crime and support those who work and shop there.
We encourage businesses and members of the public to continue reporting incidents so we can take swift and appropriate action.

22nd January: Vehicle crime , particularly theft from motor vehicle , remains a priority for us. While we have seen a recent reduction in offending over the past two to three weeks, this follows several significant arrests that have been widely communicated on our Coventry Police facebook page. These arrests have had a positive impact, but our work to tackle vehicle crime continues.
We want to be clear that victims are never to blame, however, we are still seeing incidents where vehicles are left insecure, or valuables are left inside, which can increase opportunities for offending. Simple preventative steps can make a real difference.
We encourage all members of the public to :
-Lock vehicles every time they are left, even for short periods.
-Remove valuables from view
-Report any suspicious behaviour or activity in their area as soon as possible.
Over the coming month, officers will be holding community engagement events where crime prevention literature /equipment will be available.
These events are an opportunity to speak with officers, and learn more about how we are working to keep our communities safe.

Over the last month we have made several significant arrests , which have contributed to the reduction in burglary offences. This follows targeted patrols (a lot conducted during the hours of darkness ), and enforcement activity involving the local neighbourhood policing team, priority crime team and Traffic officers, aimed at disrupting offenders and providing reassurance.
Following reports of a burglary , officers also carry out house to house visits, whereby nearby addresses are contacted to offer reassurance and encourage vigilance in the area.
We continue to provide advice on securing homes and safely storing valuable items, and we encourage residents to report anything suspicious or out of place.

23/02/26: There have been a number of positive results recently, including the arrest of repeat shoplifters who have now been charged to court. We will continue to pursue persistent offenders and use all available powers to prevent further offences. We are working closely with local businesses to strengthen security measures and support crime prevention initiatives, including advice on designing out crime. 23/02/26: remains a priority, the areas are subject to targeted patrols during peak times, particularly late evenings, to deter offending and identify suspects. The Mounted Unit has also been deployed on several occasions to provide additional high visibility reassurance patrols.
There have been several arrests made recently in connection with these offences, and those individuals charged to court. Crime prevention advice continues to be shared, and we strongly encourage members of the public not to leave items on display in vehicles. March: whilst offending rates of vehicle crime have been fluctuating and there has been some recent notable reductions in reporting , this will remain a Priority for the next month. There has been some significant arrests of individuals who have committed theft from Motor vehicles, and the local Police team remain committed in their quest to drive down these offences and bring offenders to justice.

July: whilst there have been several arrests of offenders for theft of motor vehicle in the North east sector of Coventry overt the last month, recording figures for theft of motor vehicles remains high. Therefore this remains a local priority for Coventry, teams will continue targeting known offenders , conducting operations and working with communities to offer crime prevention. Communities are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or vehicles, particularly if a vehicle appears abandoned. The mounted unit has recently been deployed in the area, alongside Traffic officers who have carried out several operations such as mutli -agency road side operations , which resulted in several arrests.
