Egerton Close consists of relatively modern semi-detached houses leading off Norman Road on the Newbold Glebe estate. The houses on the left back on to the Newbold Glebe allotments.

In the same week as this photograph was taken, a letter appeared in a local newspaper, whose signatories included two councillors, advocating the reinstatement of the railway here, restoring a link between Rugby and Leicester while also providing a rail connection to Magna Park.
