Harp Place is an adult education centre run by Coventry City Council. https://www.covlearn.co.uk/course/view.php?id=297 It occupies a building formerly known as Motor Mills, that in the late 19th century was a cotton mill of the Coventry Spinning and Weaving Company. From 1896 it was used by the newly-founded Daimler motor company, which later developed a large factory and other facilities nearby. This was the British Daimler company, which had bought the rights to the name from the German automobile engineer Gottfried Daimler and his Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, the company later known as Mercedes-Benz. The British company went through various changes of ownership before being bought by Jaguar in 1960. Elmwood Court comprises 56 flats in a two-storey maisonette style, located to the east of St Nicholas Street and close to Coventry city centre.

The land to the right was originally occupied by Daimler and is where the first British produced Daimler car was made in 1897. The bus, a 1945 Daimler CWD6 (registration VV8934), is approaching the entrance to the former Coventry Transport Sandy Lane bus garage (where the people are standing) where it will put down/pick up passengers being shuttled between there and the Transport Museum as part of a Coventry City Transport centenary bus rally.

This is the only surviving building of the Daimler Car Factory, which made the first British production motor car in 1897.

A 1963 Daimler bus (registration 334CRW,) in Coventry Corporation Transport livery of the time, picking up visitors to the Coventry Transport Museum store in the former Sandy Lane bus garage to transport them back to the museum. Several other vintage buses were on display and ferrying visitors for the open stores day and celebration of Coventry Transport bus centenary. The bus is sporting an appropriate Sandy Lane Garage destination board at the front and 'Jaguar, Browns Lane' to the side.
