Harp Place is an adult education centre run by Coventry City Council. https://www.covlearn.co.uk/course/view.php?id=297 It occupies a building formerly known as Motor Mills, that in the late 19th century was a cotton mill of the Coventry Spinning and Weaving Company. From 1896 it was used by the newly-founded Daimler motor company, which later developed a large factory and other facilities nearby. This was the British Daimler company, which had bought the rights to the name from the German automobile engineer Gottfried Daimler and his Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, the company later known as Mercedes-Benz. The British company went through various changes of ownership before being bought by Jaguar in 1960.
