Meadow, Staple Road
Such a peaceful scene but 100 years ago, a railway embankment would have run [L-R] across the meadow; the only sign of its existence is where the ground slopes under the large trees, beyond the horses. The embankment was west of the East Kent Light Railway’s Wingham Colliery station

Dam Bridge on Staple Road
This bridge should carry a stream from near Witherdens Hall, towards the Wingham River. But on the other side of the road, it has been dammed to create a large ornamental garden pond.
