Dumpton Park railway station, Thanet, Kent
Opened in 1926 by the Southern Railway on their new route from Margate through today's Ramsgate station. View east, the line then curves round to the left towards Margate. Just an island platform with minimal facilities, and looks rather like a park!

Dumpton Park station, 1990
View westward from Hereson Road bridge, towards Margate, Faversham, Chatham and London. The station was opened 19/7/26, when the SR built a new short-cut connecting the former SER and LC&DR routes between Margate and Ramsgate.

Dumpton Park railway station
The grass grows long on the single island platform and an open sided shelter is the only passenger comfort at this bleak isolated station between Ramsgate and Broadstairs. However there is an hourly weekday service direct to London Victoria from here, scheduled for 1 hour and 53 minutes. The station was only opened in 1926 following the Southern Railway's rationalization of the lines inherited in Thanet from the pre-grouping companies and the construction of the connecting loop between Margate and Ramsgate.

Dumpton Park station
This little used station looks depressing enough in the daytime, imagine 8.50pm on a wet Wednesday in October that definitely puts the dump into Dumpton Park.

Dumpton Park station II
Sorry that all that can be featured in this square is a (crappy) railway station, this shelter is all there is for this site, see also picture Image The 'Way Out' sign on the right hand side shows you a picture of a man walking up 27 stairs leading out of the premises.
