The grass grows long on the single island platform and an open sided shelter is the only passenger comfort at this bleak isolated station between Ramsgate and Broadstairs. However there is an hourly weekday service direct to London Victoria from here, scheduled for 1 hour and 53 minutes. The station was only opened in 1926 following the Southern Railway's rationalization of the lines inherited in Thanet from the pre-grouping companies and the construction of the connecting loop between Margate and Ramsgate.
