Purley Knoll
Leafy Purley. Purley developed rapidly in the 1920s and '30s, a suburban town sandwiched between Croydon to the north and the North Downs to the south; it is one of the UK's most affluent areas. It can also be quite hilly; here, Purley Knoll drops down to Valley Road.

'Wave' Car wash, Tesco, Purley
If you park at Tesco's car park in Purley, a group of obliging young men will offer to wash and/or valet your car, whilst you do your shopping. And, make no mistake, these are no cowboys: they do an excellent job, and are very pleasant and friendly.
