London Loop at Peacock Gardens
Looking at the map you might well think this bit of the Loop would be a trudge past a lot of housing, but actually the path has remained surprisingly isolated.
It is a tree lined track, for the most part fenced off from the neighbouring roads, and accessed only at a couple of crossings like this one.

Inside Selsdon Wood
The 200 acres of Selsdon Wood was saved in the 1920s when it became the joint responsibility of the Croydon Corporation and the Urban District Council of Coulsdon & Purley, with ownership being vested in The National Trust.
This footpath runs just inside Selsdon Wood alongside Quail Gardens. Close behind are two long distance paths. Both the London LOOP and the Vanguard Way pass through Selsdon Wood. The former is a 152 mile circle around London, largely through the Green Belt, while the latter is a 66 mile route from East Croydon to Newhaven.

Bridleway junction near Court Wood
A bridleway leads straight on towards Featherbed Lane, from Selsdon Wood. Another bridleway (the Bridle way) leads right through Court Wood to Court Wood Lane, it also leads left towards Ashen Grove, through Forestdale.

Selsdon Wood on the London Loop
The Loop passes through woods between Selsdon and Hamsey Green before turning sharp right en route to the road leading to Elm Farm. Selsdon Wood is a nature reserve in the London Borough of Croydon.
