South Croydon Bus Garage
This large garage is the centre of Arriva's operations in the area. The bus outside is T49, one of the latest types of double decker, running on Route 466 which links Addington Village (tram interchange) with Caterham-on-the-Hill.

Napier Road, South Croydon, Surrey
Napier Road runs eastwards from Brighton Road, but there is no useful exit at the far end. The building on the left is Croydon Bus Garage, to which there is a side entrance just beyond the first line of cars.

Brighton Road, South Croydon
Always a busy street. Here an Atlantean double decker of London Country is on its way to Reigate on Route 411, while behind is a London Transport Routemaster on the 109 to Purley. In 2007, Route 411 no longer operates, while the 109 does not come this far south, only reaching Central Croydon.

Old London Transport speed limit on South Croydon bus garage
London Transport and British Rail both made their own versions of national signs, and these were the equivalent of the pre-1964 speed limits for slower speeds below 20mph. 4mph is rare but not unique, as is 8mph. There are many more modern 4mph signs all around the building but this is the only old one.
