Hooton - the Wirral Way
Hooton: the Wirral Way (here also the North Cheshire Way). This is near the eastern end of the Wirral Way and the western end of the North Cheshire Way, where they meet at Hooton Station. The path here runs between the railway to the east and a large industrial site to the west, but both paths soon become more rural.

70004 'William Shakespeare' approaching Hooton Station - 1966
Although nominally rated as 'mixed traffic' locomotives (7P5F), the Britannia class was essentially an express passenger locomotive, and to find a member of the class attached to a rake of iron ore tipplers would be considered very demeaning. However, in late stages of steam operation on British Railways, all sorts of locomotives could be found on all sorts of trains.
