Shotton (High Level) railway station, Flintshire
Opened in 1891 as "Connah's Quay & Shotton" by the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay Railway, on what is now the Wrexham to Bidston line. The name was changed to "Shotton High Level" at the end of 1952. Officially the "High Level" was dropped in 1968, but reinstated in 1999, and it helps to distinguish between this and the platforms at Image

Blocked path from Shotton High Level station to Shotton Low Level station
Viewed on February 22nd 2018. A temporary barrier is across the path from Shotton High Level station on the Broderlands Line to Shotton Low Level station on the North Wales Coast Line. A nearby Network Rail notice dated December 14th 2017 states that work to replace the longitudinal timbers and slip resistant walkboards on the Shotton Low Level link bridge is scheduled to take place from January 22nd 2018 until February 16th 2018. This photo was taken six days after the scheduled end of the work. I don't know when the path reopened.

Path to Shotton High Level
Shotton Railway Station consists of two sets of lines and platforms. There are the low level platforms serving the North Wales Coast Line and the high level platforms on the Borderlands Line which crosses above the other line. This is the path leading to the High Level station from the Low Level station.
