Forrest Rd bridge over cycle and footpath, Penarth
This bridge has an unusual echo effect. The crunch of the gravel underfoot echoes for an appreciable time, causing a sound above one's head somewhat reminiscent of the growl of the WWII Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (though much quieter, of course!).

Sea view from the Wales Coast Path
For most of the Coast Path between Lower Penarth and Lavernock Point, you walk along a cliff with your view of the sea obscured by a hedge. Occasionally you get a glimpse of the Bristol Channel, as here. The two islands in view are Flat Holm with its lighthouse - this belongs to Wales. The other is Steep Holm, belonging to England.

Part of the Wales Coast Path in Penarth
Busy with walkers, families, dog-walkers, sunbathers / sun worshippers and even two 'ladies who lunch' who have a patio table complete with sunshade in the shade of a tree over to the left and have been dining alfresco. Some people really know how to live.

Rowan Close, Penarth
This is the view down from Forrest Road to where houses have taken over the trackbed of the Penarth - Cadoxton railway, closed in the late 1960s. Lower Penarth Halt was in this vicinity but it closed even earlier, in 1954.
