Silver Star DIY, Barry
DiY supplies shop at 8 Subway Road. The business traces its origins back to 1902, when members of the Sylvester family sold goods from the back of a horse-drawn cart plying the streets of Barry.
The business is still owned and run by the Sylvester family. No doubt the name Silver Star was chosen because it sounds like Sylvester.

Barry Dock Offices
Viewed from the edge of Barry Docks railway station.
The offices were built in late nineteenth century to regulate the substantial coal exporting trade which had grown to world prominence in Barry, and led to a rapid increase in the population of Barry.
The building is now used as offices by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
