The crests are located on the west bank of the River Ogmore, at the edge of a river footbridge adjacent to Bridgend County Borough Council offices on Angel Street. Bridgend's crest is the leftmost. The town's motto is "Onward with confidence". The next two crests are those of the towns twinned with Bridgend, Villenave-d'Ornon, France and Langenau, Germany.

Former Bridgend UDC crest, Angel Street, Bridgend
Located on the right here. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2275192 The Heraldry Wiki website states that the motto A VO PENN BIT PONT means He who will be chief, let him be a bridge. The arms were officially granted on June 18th 1951. The salmon refers to the nearby River Ogmore/Afon Ogwr. The bridge stands for Bridgend. The raven at the top of the crest alludes to Lord Dunraven. The wheatsheaves are for agriculture. The arms are now used by Bridgend town council.
