The crests are located on the west bank of the River Ogmore, at the edge of a river footbridge adjacent to Bridgend County Borough Council offices on Angel Street. Bridgend's crest is the leftmost. The town's motto is "Onward with confidence". The next two crests are those of the towns twinned with Bridgend, Villenave-d'Ornon, France and Langenau, Germany.
