Lansdowne Primary School, Canton, Cardiff
The school occupies 100 metres of the west side of Norfolk Street, nearly the entire length of the street. Opened in 1898 as Lansdowne Road School, it was the largest school built by the Cardiff School Board, designed to accommodate 1480 pupils.

Billy the Seal, Victoria Park, Cardiff
The paddling pool (drained for the winter) is behind this monument to the famous Billy the Seal Billy was accidentally caught in fishing nets in 1912 and was "re-homed" in Victoria park. When the area flooded in 1927 he temporarily escaped and tried to board a tram. When he died in 1939 "he" was found to be a "she".
