This large property at number 17 Sun Street was, until recently, the Post Office Stores. Isleham is a rural fenland village situated about 6 miles north of Newmarket and some 7 miles south east of Ely. The village is renowned for the Isleham Hoard of more than 6500 pieces of bronze from the late Bronze Age. The priory of St Margaret of Antioch was founded in the village circa 1090.

The Rising Sun public house was originally a two bay early 17th century cottage which was extended on the right by one bay in the late 17th century. Timber framed and rendered. A brewhouse, in clunch, was built in the 18th century and there have been major alterations in the 20th century. Number 6 Sun Street is the former granary to the adjoining former farmhouse, number 2 Image, and was converted to domestic accommodation in the 1970s. Built in the early 18th century in red brick with hoist openings, now full height windows, to the first floor. According to British History Online (http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=18932 ), the Zoar Chapel was built for schismatic Particular Baptists in 1846 and may have closed by 1860. It was later used as a warehouse and is now an attractive house.

Number 2 Sun Street is a former farmhouse built circa 1670. Constructed in coursed clunch with early 19th century fenestration. Inside is an original staircase.
