The Zoar chapel, number 23 Sun Street, was built in 1846 when there was a split in the Particular Baptists. Designed to seat 100, it probably closed in the 1860s. Later used as a warehouse it is now domestic accommodation. Isleham is a rural fenland village situated about 6 miles north of Newmarket and some 7 miles south east of Ely. The village is renowned for the Isleham Hoard of more than 6500 pieces of bronze from the late Bronze Age. The priory of St Margaret of Antioch was founded in the village circa 1090.
