Guided busway closed under A14
A prolonged closure for the A14 widening works, much longer than initially planned.

King's Hedges: Pagram Way and Flack End

Large electricity pylon alongside guided busway
Cycling alongside the guided busway I was struck by how much more heavily engineered this pylon was compared with the preceding one. Getting closer the reason became clear: it was at the end of a section with all cables going down to a substation rather than continuing to another pylon. The extra strength was needed to counter-act the unbalanced load imposed by the cables. In the distance is the A14 bridge.

Guided busway and the A14
The guided bus had just left the Cambridge Regional College stop at Kings Hedges and was about to tunnel under the A14. Its next stop was Histon.
