Lode & District Social Club
The hall was built between 1931 and 1933 as the Lode Labour Club and was the first such building in Cambridgeshire. In 1998 it decided that it was no longer affiliated to the Labour Party and changed its name to the current one. It has a very informative website here http://www.lodesocialclub.co.uk/

A plaque above the entrance to the thatched hall states that it was built in 1930 in memory of Urban Hanlon Broughton (1857-1929) by his sons. Urban Broughton was an engineer who made a fortune in the USA from railway and mining interests. His sons had bought the nearby Anglesey Estate in 1926.
