Scotby Grange
A fairly recent housing development. The Edwardian mansion Scotby House has been extended and converted to flats, and several new houses built in the grounds.
In the late 20th century Scotby House was a police divisional HQ. During the first world war, it was a Red Cross hospital - there is a photo of this on Cumbria Image Bank http://cumbriaimagebank.org.uk/ .

The end of The Plains
... at least for now. Phase two of the small housing development in The Plains off Scotby Road appears to have stalled. Eight large and high-specification houses were built in 2017, but currently at least three of them remain unsold, and the extension of the site is on hold.

Scotby railway station (site), Cumbria
Opened in 1836 by the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway, this station closed in 1959. As Scotby's other station on the Settle-Carlisle line had closed to passengers in 1942, Scotby was left without any stations.
View south west from the road. The track is behind the gate. The station house is now in private use.
