Benchmark, Blencow Hall
Detail of the Ordnance Survey cut benchmark on the south west wall of Blencowe Hall (renamed from Blencow Hall by the current owners, The Rowley Estates) adjacent to the archway into the courtyard. The benchmark marks a height of 195.5595m above mean sea level (Ordnance Datum Newlyn) last verified in 1969 (location photograph Image).

Garden gate, Blencowe Hall
This small gate leads into an area of lawned garden at the side of Blencowe Hall (renamed from Blencow Hall by the current owners, The Rowley Estates).
Adjacent to the gate, on one of the stones beside an archway leading into the courtyard there is an Ordnance Survey cut benchmark (photograph Image).

Blencow Hall
This old hall with its two ruined towers dates from the 16th/17th century. The south tower has now been restored to a habitable condition by the insertion of a contrasting modern facade. See http://www.visitcumbria.com/pele2.htm for an aerial view of the tower before restoration.
